A Sense of Stability

Well, as you can no doubt tell, the podcast page has a new theme. It’s not mine. I needed a better theme in a hurry, and there is, frankly, no way in hell I could ever come up with one even half as good in that short amount of time. So I grabbed this one off of the WordPress themes site. It’s called Darkened Waters. Not bad, huh? Of course, I tweaked a couple of minor things, including adding links to the forums and whatnot, changing the quote, and changing the image of the flowers. Maybe it’s not great, but it looks alright to me.

I find that the more I use Vanilla forums, the more I like them. Ours is using the Jazzman style, which is one of the few available other than the default style. Still, it looks nice. I should probably put a banner image at the top of it in place of the text, but that’s another job for another day. I sorted out(for the most part) the little issues with doing quotes in discussion, and I also set up several more extensions on the board. Adding new add-ons in Vanilla is worlds easier than in forums such as our former PHPBB.

Of course, working on all of this website stuff has prevented me from working more on the upcoming compilation disc, but that really isn’t a big deal at the moment. I’m still awaiting some items from certain people for the disc, and once I get those, I can really shift into high gear on finishing up the dvd. I don’t know how impressive it will be, but I am already proud of our work so far.

What’s next for Video Game Theory? My instinct is to say “who knows”, but I shall atempt to refrain from saying it. Still, I don’t really know for certain where we’re heading. I do know things are going to change. That much is certain. As of right now, the podcast is, at least temporarily, on haitus so that I can focus on getting this dvd out the door. After that, we’ll just have to wait and see.

The website is currently undergoing remodeling…

I am in the process of setting up a new forum system(which to me feels far superior to PHPBB), and I am also setting the default redirect to the podcast page(here) for front page newsposting. Please bear with us during the restructuring and whatnot. Don’t bother posting on the PHPBB forum because I have already transferred all of the data to the new forum system, and i’m setting it up at the moment. Any posts made beyond this point will not be carried over.

Ricky Coulter is most often found on Facebook, evil den of mass dementia that it is. Most of his content is set to 'Friends Only' at the moment, so feel free to send him a friend request - just be verbose and descriptive as to who you are, how you found him, and why you want to be friends, as he is a paranoid caveman and thus does not trust complete strangers.
